Harry was posted to the 68th Field Company of the Royal Engineers on 5th January 1915
The unit embarked for France on 2nd July 1915
Harry was wounded on 1st September 1918
Harry died of his wounds on 17th September 1918.

The London Gazette of 21st October 1918 reported the award of his Military Medal.

Harry is buried at the Windmill British cemetery, Monchy-Le-Preux.

As North End, is in the Parish of Ford End, Harry is not commemorated in Felsted but is remembered on the war memorial at Ford End Church.
